This class is for entry-level and current grade I or II operators. This class, along with 6 months experience will satisfy the eligibility requirement for the Iowa DNR Water Distribution Systems Grade I and is a good review for anyone planning to take the Water Distribution Systems Grade II or III exams. Approved for three CEUs for Water Distribution.
The course objective is to provide operators and managers with the knowledge, skill, abilities, and judgment essential to safely operate and maintain their facilities as well as manage their facilities using appropriate financial strategies.
Provides a solid foundation and builds on knowledge about water sources and characteristics, math, hydraulics, pumping stations, flow measurement, preliminary treatment, primary treatment, secondary treatment, disinfection, sampling and lab, safety, administration, laws and regulations.
Bring a good calculator, your IDNR Operating Permit, and recent monthly operating report. You must attend all sessions to get full credit. Textbooks will be included. Lunch will also be provided.
